A constrution permit issued for Plovdivtsi Dam

After a year-long collaboration between teams of RUTEX and FICHTNER–Germany, a construction permit for the completion of the construction of Plovdivtsi Dam was issued on 04.06.2014 on the basis of a detailed design by Sweco Energoproekt AD and approved report for assessment of compliance of the design prepared by DZZD “RUTEX – FICHTNER”. The Employer for the project is the Ministry of Regional Development of Bulgaria.

Once the construction of the Plovdivtsi Dam is compeleted, 37 villages in the region, with a population of over 40,000 people, will have a more reliable supply of drinking water in sufficient quantity and good quality. Hydrohub “Plovdivtsi” consists of a dam wall; upper diversion dam (built into the body of the wall), shaft overflow combined with a water intake tower, main discharger, and treatment plant for drinking water.
